We would like to call your attention to a brief SDS Int’l Group CEO Speech as guest of honor on Health Investment Opportunity

Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon has a nice quotation that is:

The common question that gets asked in business is, ‘why?’ That’s a good

Question, but an equally valid question is, ‘why not?’

Tonight I want to talk about investing on cost and I am not going to ask why? I want to say why not?

Traditionally, the companies and governments have viewed health as a cost but not as an investment. No one disputes that poor health is a cost for businesses and the society But thinking about health only as a cost leads us to miss an important point.

As healthcare costs continue to outpace GDP by 3% per year, many stakeholders have come to realize that an investment in health is actually an economic critical matter (issue). In a time when we are in lack of sustainable investment opportunities, new investment opportunities are eagerly welcomed. Actually, these new investment opportunities have direct and indirect effect (impact) on society and environment which is called “Responsible investment” (that is the new generation of investment)

It is quite clear that Healthy people create competitive advantages for both businesses and the society through increased productivity, reduced healthcare costs especially in the retirement age and well-being.

We can’t be blind that recently we have seen a paradigm shift that is we are living longer, but we are not living healthier.  So, maximizing Healthy Life Years will have a positive effect on a country’s economic wealth.

Therefore, Winning companies and societies will invest in Healthy Life Years and they look for sustainable growth opportunities.

In order to encourage new investments in health, we have identified some practical actions to take. Considering “The health ecosystem with its seven settings”

And also there are two strategies in my mind for investing in health:

1-the first one is creating healthy offerings targeted to individuals (iROI) or individual perspective for example, personalized nutritional solutions, incorporating exercise level, special nutritional needs and personal taste or mobile decision-support solutions, which help individuals make better trade-off decisions.

2- The second idea is Investments at the population level (pROI) or population/societal perspective

This will often require governments and the private sector to work together; an example is the public-private partnership between the government of the Philippines and a global F&B company to improve nutrient supply for young children of the lowest income groups.

Phase4: Result

At the end of my speech I would like to draw your attention to the point that the approaching tsunami of non-communicable diseases – like aging, diabetes or mental illness – creates an urgent need for action.

For example, when we are talking about ageing crisis, Population aging generates many challenges.

According to UN Population Fund (UNFPA) report; the percentage of the population 60+ will estimatedly reach 12.3% in IRAN by 2025. The majority of health problems among elderly people are lengthy and costly health services. But it also offers many sustainable investment opportunities for businesses and society. Winners will identify the most profitable opportunities for investment now and take action.

As the only professional service provider of UNPRI in Iran and according to my

Company (SDS Int’l Group) social responsibility road map and its commitment to

Promote SDGs which are significated by UNGC, I pronounce that SDS Int’l Group

Will welcome and help all investors who want to hunt this unique opportunity

to invest in health industry in IRAN.
