The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) seeks social entrepreneurs and innovators in 60 countries to accelerate their programmes. The UNDP Accelerator Labs are UNDP’s new and innovative concept to meet the global challenges of the 21st century. Through local labs, UNDP plans to use its established global network of 170 countries to scale locally sourced and successful innovations to the rest of the world.

The UNDP Accelerator Labs are UNDP’s new and innovative concept to meet the global challenges of the 21st century. Through local labs, UNDP plan to use its established global network of 170 countries to scale locally sourced and successful innovations to the rest of the world.

UNDP’s vision is to break up the brick-wall between the private and public sector and instead honor the successful social innovation regardless of whether it’s a grassroots invention, a policy workaround, or a business that’s making the world a better place.

By having the ears to the ground in a large number of places, UNDP can radically accelerate learning about what works and by designing experiments/hypothesis/testbeds, UNDP can test solutions and grow the successful ones in weeks or months rather than years.this new concept requires that UNDP hires new talents and new skills.

The UNDP vision is to locally source innovations; hence it is logical that all the personnel recruited are recruited from the local context. This means that as an applicant you must be a citizen or holding a valid working permit in the country of the Lab you are applying for. The citizenship and the work-permit also open up for diasporas around the world, so we encourage spreading the words.

UNDP is looking for three types of talents, the below short description is an attempt to translate the different roles to a private setting and to ease the understanding of the wide audience of social entrepreneurs who will read this article, you find links to UNDP’s official descriptions too.
